Former SEC and CFTC Chair Gary Gensler discusses today’s reports on another dust up between traditional exchanges and prediction markets. Bloomberg reported today that prediction market Kalshi asked the SEC to delay the listing of competing products on a traditional exchange, the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). This, even as the contracts Kalshi reportedly asked to be delayed are options contracts specifically tied to line items in public company corporate earnings reports.
