Gary Gensler discusses with Jessica Dean that it was never the intention of Congress in 2010 when passing post Great Financial Crisis Dodd-Frank reforms to cover sports betting or give the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, which he then chaired, authority as the national gaming authority. Gary shares that the then Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, ‘would have thrown us out of his office if we had asked for such authority.’
